Frequently asked questions
What kind of copy do I write?
I write copy and content that need to be clear, engaging and commercially useful. That includes homepages, service pages, product and category pages, blogs, customer-facing content, and copy that supports SEO, CRO, UX and brand trust. I’m comfortable with both short, sharp copy and longer-form content, and I always adapt the tone to the audience and the goal.
Who do I work with?
I work with small businesses, startups and sole traders, as well as in-house teams and agencies that need clear, commercially minded writing. Over the years I’ve written for clients across a wide range of sectors in the UK and overseas, so I’m comfortable adapting quickly to different audiences, tones and goals.
What’s my approach?
My approach is human first. I start with what the audience needs to understand, feel or do, then shape the copy around that in a way that supports business goals and performance. That usually means making content informative, easy to scan and genuinely useful, while still keeping it sharp, engaging and on brand. I’m also always looking at how copy can be reoptimised over time so it continues to perform.
Do I use AI?
Yes, as a tool, not a substitute for thinking. I learned how to use AI properly and now it’s built into my workflow, but I still do the real writing, editing, shaping and quality control. I use it to support efficiency and ideation, while making sure the final work still sounds human, accurate and original.
What experience do I have?
I’ve been freelancing since 2018 and spent three years building experience across SEO, copywriting and client communication before moving into full-time in-house work. I’m now a copywriter at a leading Manchester digital marketing agency and became Head of Content in June 2026. Along the way I’ve worked with more than 2,000 businesses and gained hands-on experience in research, writing, editing, client liaison and content strategy.
